Muncaster is situated close to the Cumbria coast next to Ravenglass. The parish church is in the grounds of Muncaster Castle. The war memorial is to be found in the form of a plaque within the church.

Private 46976. 13th Battalion Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment). Died on 7th June 1916. Private Ainsworth was born in Main Street, Ravenglass on 28th April 1892, the son of William Ainsworth. He lived in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia where he worked as a pipemaker. Buried: Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Ref. V. E. 7.

Enlisted Milburn, Lancashire. Son of Maria Massicks, of Brankinwall, Ravenglass, Cumberland, and the late William Massicks. Buried: Arneke British Cemetery, Nord, France. Ref. VIII. A. 18.
