The Memorial Garden is located outsude Durham cathedral and contains dedicatory stone tablets within and seats with additional plaques. The Garden is planted with Ypres Rose, taken from a garden at Ypres by Lieutenant H Scott and originally placed at Barnard Castle; after several moves it was finally placed in the DLI Memorial Garden. There are no names listed just units of the regiment. The builders were Messrs. F. W. Goodyer and Son, the memorial garden being dedicated 8 July 1950 by the then Bishop of Durham.
