GESTINGTHORPE WAR MEMORIAL

World War 1 & 2 - Roll of Honour with detailed information

The Gestingthorpe memorial can be found in the grounds of St Mary's Church, Church Street, Gestingthorpe. It takes the form a a very simple, rough hewn, Celtic cross on an irregular sjaped plinth with a single step. There are twelve names listed for World War 1 and two for World War 2. Within the church is a Roll of Honour board made from oak with incised names in two columns listing 49 names, 39 who served and returned and 10 who gave their lives in World War 1.
