RADWINTER WAR MEMORIAL

The Radwinter war memorial can be found south of the main entrance to the St Mary the Virgin Church, Walden Road, Radwinter, Uttlesford, Essex. It takes the formof a hooded Calvary cross with an octagonal shaft standing on a four-sidded plinth and a two stepp-base. There are 34 names in total, 22 for World War 1 and 6 for World War 2. The memorial was first unveiled on 3 September 1921 by Lieutenant General Sir Francis Lloyd, GCVO, KCB, DSO, and dedicated by Reverend E. Bullock.
