CHIPPING CAMPDEN WAR MEMORIAL

The Chipping Campden War Memorial is to be found between the Old |Town Hall and the Market Hall, Main Street, Chipping Campden. It takes the form of an octagonal plinth topped with a shaft on which is a small, roffed, calvary cross. The inscriptions are on the sides of the plinth. There are 61 names for World War 1 which have the year that they. Died listed with them. It was unveiled on Sunday 9 January 1921 by local dignitaries and clergymen. The designer was F L Griggs and the engraver Edgar Keen. The Second World War Memorial is near to that of the First World War in the Main Street, it contains 16 names.
