Private, 46089, 11th Leicestershire Regiment. Died 10-08-19, aged 23. Served with the BEF 1917-1919. Returned home invalided. Buried in Great Rissington (St. John the Baptist) Churchyard Extension.

HENSLEY

Wilfred Henry

Captain, 6th Somerset Light Infantry. Killed in action Somme 21-03-18, aged 23. Commemorated on Pozieres Memorial, Panels 25/26.

MASTERS

Private, 1886, 10th Division Army Cyclist Corps. Wounded in action Suvla Bay (Gallipoli) 31-08-15 and invalided home. Died of wounds 26-09-16, aged 23. Son of William and Clara Masters, Great Rissington, Cheltenham. Buried in Great Rissington (St. John the Baptist) Churchyard Extension.

L/Corporal, 242685, 1/6th Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Killed in action 16-04-17, aged 29. Son of Annie Elizabeth Davis (formerly Morris), Great Rissington, and of Alfred Davis (Stepfather). Commemorated on Thiepval Memorial, Panels 09A/09B/10B.

Private, 13647, 8th Gloucestershire Regiment. Killed in action near Bazentin-le-Petit, 30-07-16, aged 21. Son of Mr. and Mrs. William Porter, Great Rissington, Gloucs. Commemorated on Thiepval Memorial, Panels 05A/05B.

Private, 21525, 11th Cheshire Regiment. Killed in action 20-04-18, aged 31. Born Great Rissington, Gloucs. Son of William and Julia Annie Souls, of Great Barrington, Burford, Oxon. All four of his brothers, Albert, twin Arthur William, Frederick George and Walter Davis Souls also fell. Buried in Strand Military Cemetery, Grave IX.B.09.

L/Corporal, 21683, 16th Cheshire Regiment. Killed in action 25-04-18, aged 31. Awarded the Military Medal. Born Great Rissington, Gloucs. Son of William and Julia Annie Souls, Great Barrington, Burford, Oxon. All four of his brothers, Albert, twin Alfred, Frederick George and Walter Davis Souls also fell. Buried in Hangard Communal Cemetery Extension, Grave I.G.07.

Private, 17208, 5th Co., Machine Gun Corps (Infantry). Killed in action 14-03-16, aged 20. Born Great Rissington, Gloucs. Son of William and Julia Annie Souls, Great Barrington, Burford, Oxon. All four of his brothers, Alfred, Arthur William, Frederick George and Walter Davis Souls also fell. Buried in Bully-Grenay Communal Cemetery French Extension, Grave A.41.

Private, 21686, 16th Cheshire Regiment. Killed in action Trones Wood 19-07-16, aged 30. Son of William and Julia Annie Souls, Great Barrington, Burford, Oxford. All four of his brothers, Albert, twins Alfred and Arthur William, and Walter Davis Souls also fell. Commemorated on Thiepval Memorial, Panels 03C/04A.

Private, 17209, 5th Brigade, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry). Died from wounds Rouen 02-08-16, aged 24. Son of William and Julia Annie Souls, Great Barrington, Burford, Oxford. All four of his brothers, Albert, twins Alfred and Arthur William, and Frederick George also fell. Buried in St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen, Grave B.29.33.

Private, 202023, 2/4th Gloucestershire Regiment. Killed in action Cambrai 03-12-17, aged 32. Commemorated on Cambrai Memorial, Louverval, Panel 06.

Frederick James

Private, 13812, 12th Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action 24-04-17, aged 23. Son of George and Ellen Vellender, Great Rissington, Gloucs. His brother John Vellender also fell. Commemorated on Doiran Memorial.

Private, 23677, 8th Gloucestershire Regiment. Killed in action 04-07-16, aged 20. Son of George and Ellen Vellender, Great Rissington, Gloucs. His brother Frederick James Vellender also fell. Grave I.I.26.
