AUSTIN Herbert William

Private 241481, 1st/5th Battalion, Gloucetsershire Regiment. Killed in action on the Somme 16 August 1916. Aged 25. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 5 A and 5 B.

BICK Leonard Long

Private 27653, 16th Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Killed in action in the Arras area of France 13th March 1917. Son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bick, of Church Farm, Staverton, Cheltenham, Glos. Buried in CHAMBRIN MILITARY CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Row H. Grave 23. Commemorated on the family grave in Boddington Cemetery.

BLOFELD Frank D'Arcy

Second Lieutenant, 2nd Life Guards. Killed in action 12 May 1915 at Ypres. Aged 25. Son of Frank and Leslie Blanche Blofeld, of Dunster Lodge, Alcombe, Minehead, Somerset. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 3.

CANNOCK George Lumbard

Sergeant 165298, 6th Dragoons (Inniskilling). Killed in action in France on 8 August 1918. Aged 24. Enlisted Bath, resident Cheltenham. Son of Eleanor Robinson (formerly Cannock), of Quilon Villa, Prestbury Rd., Cheltenham, and the late Thomas Cannock. Formerly 924, North Somerset Yeomanry. Buried in the LE QUESNEL COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, Somme, France. Row A. Grave 44. Commemorated on the grave of his parents in St Lawrence Churchyard Swindon Village. He is listed on the Cheltenham Borough War Memorial and commemorated on the grave of his parents in Swindon Village Cemetery.

HOPKINS Albert Edward

Private 12301, 12th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. Died of wounds at Arras 31 August 1918. Aged 34. Fourth son of Thomas and Mary Hopkins, of Hayden, Cheltenham; husband of Lizzie Maria Hopkins, of 4, Malvern Rd., St. John'S, Worcester. Buried in ACHIET-LE-GRAND COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, Pas de Calais, France. PLot I. Row R. Grave 4.

JARVIS William Frederick

Private 8623, 1st Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. Killed in action on the Somme 23 July 1916. Aged 27. Son of William Henry and Emily Ann Jarvis, of "Rosedale", Badgeworth Rd., Churchdown, Gloucester. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 5 A and 5 B.

JOBBINS Albert George

Private 11204, "B" Company, 8th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. Died accidentally in United Kingdom 26 October 1914. Aged 18. Son of Albert E. and Emma Lena Jobbins, of School House, Staverton, Cheltenham. Buried in TIDWORTH MILITARY CEMETERY, Wiltshire. Row C. Grave 117.

PARNELL George

Private 12239, 7th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. Killed in action at Chunuk Bair, Gallipoli, 8 August 1915. Aged 19. Commemorated on HELLES MEMORIAL, Turkey. Panel 101 to 104.

PAYNE Frederick

Private 26703, 25th Company, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry). Killed in action on the Somme 10 November 1916. Aged 26. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 5 C and 12 C.

PHILLIPS Arthur

Private 17084, 1st Battalion, Coldstream guards. Killed in action on the Somme 29 September 1916. Buried in A.I.F. BURIAL GROUND, FLERS, Somme, France. Plot V. Row F. Grave 1.

RIMMELL Reginald Ivor

[Listed as Reginald Ivor Rimell] Corporal 241130, 2nd/5th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. Died of wounds at Ypres 12 September 1917. Aged 20. Son of Ivo and Kate E. Rimell, of 3, Ivy Terrace, The Meddings, Cheltenham. Buried in LIJSSENTHOEK, Poperinge, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot XVIII. Row E. Grave 14.

Corporal 201457, 7th Battalion, Tank Corps. Killed in action at Amiens 21 August 1918. Aged 26. Son of George Edward and Elizabeth Sarah Fowler Sharp, of The Ruffs, Elmstone, Hardwick, Cheltenham, Glos. Buried in DOUCHY-LES-AYETTE BRITISH CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot I. Row J. Grave 4

TURNER George Gilbert

Private 13470, 3rd Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment. Killed in action at Aisne 16 October 1914. Aged 21. Son of Mrs. L. S. Turner, of Apperley, Tewkesbury, Glos, and the late Christopher John Turner. Buried in VAUXBUIN FRENCH CEMETERY, Aisne, France. Plot II. Row C. Grave 6.

HARRIS Ernest Harry

Private 72143, Royal Army Medical Corps attached HMHS Salta. Died at sea on 10th April 1917 when the Hospital Ship HMHS Salta was sunk by a mine off the port of Le Havre, France. His mother, Mrs Annie Sarah Yarnold resided at 5, Royal Parade, Cheltenham. He is not commemorated on any local Memorial or Roll of Honour although it is recorded in the Debt of Honour Register at the CWGC that he was a "Native of Elmstone Hardwick, Cheltenham". Commemorated on the grave of his father, Joseph Henry Harris. Commemorated on the Salta Memorial in the STE. MARIE CEMETERY, LE HAVRE, Seine-Maritime, France.
