The Bagworth War Memorial is to be found in the grounds of Holy Rood Church, Old School Lane, Bagworth. It takes the form of a tall, plain, Latin cross standing on a two-stepped base; there is a small shield on the front face of the cross shaftm containing a cross of St. George. There are twenty names listed for World War 1 and nine for World War 2.

Son of William Linford; husband of Clara Ethel (nee Smith) Linford of Ellistown, Leicestershire, married 13th April 1903 in Thornton, Leicestershire. Prior to enlistment a local Miner. Commemorated in BAGWORTH (HOLY ROOD) CHURCHYARD, Leicestershire. Special Memorial (near war memorial).

Private G/15086, 12th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment. Killed in action 31st July 1917. Aged 24. Born Bagworth, enlisted Coalville.
