The memorials are to be found in the church of Holy Ascension, Melton Ross. The World War 1 memorial is in black script, handwritten, in a wooden frame affixed to the wall, the World War 2 is an inscribed brass plaque mounted on a wooden backboard affixed to the wall. There are fifteen names for World War 1 most who served but one marked as fallen and four for World War 2 all who died. In addition there is a plaque to one man who died during the South African (Boer War) 1899-1900.

Their names shall never die.

WELTON	William Jobson	Marked ‘Fallen’ on Roll. Stoker 1st Class 283952. HMS Hawke, Royal Navy. Died 15th October 1914, aged 38 years. Son of Thomas Teanby and Jane Welton of Melton Ross and husband of Helen Welton of 35 Market Street, Winterton, Lincs. Commemorated CHATHAM NAVAL MEMORIAL. 6.
BRITT	Tom	Served and returned. Resident Villa, New Barnetby, aged 21 at enlistment, born about 1895, father George Britt, mother Isabella Saxilby. Enlisted 1915 Yorks & Lancs regiment, service no. 43418, discharged with bullet wound to right chest.

DEXTER	George	Private 4534735. 2nd Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment. Died 15th March 1941, aged 33 years. Son of Charles and Mary Ellen Dexter (nee Davis), husband of Rose Mary Dexter (nee Taylor) of New Barnetby, Lincs. Commemorated KEREN WAR CEMETERY. 3.A.9.
GRUNDY	Herbert	Corporal 4804387. 2nd Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment. Died 9th March 1945, aged 25 years. Son of William and Jane Grundy of New Barnetby, Lincs. Commemorated TAUKKYAN WAR CEMETERY. 25.G.19.
ROBINSON	David	Private 4200645. 1st Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Died 19th June 1944, aged 24 years. Son of Henry and Martha Robinson of New Barnetby, Lincs. Commemorated BAYEUX WAR CEMETERY. XI.M.11.
WOOD	Herbert Edward	Warrant Officer (Pilot) 742752. 9 Squadron, Royal Air Force VR. Died 12th June 1943, aged 26 years. Son of John and Marian Wood of Melton High Wood, Barnetby, Lincs. Commemorated BERGH (Zeddam) PROTESTANT CEMETERY. Grave 1.
Who gave their lives for the cause of freedom in the war of 1939 – 1945. They were a wall unto us both by night and day. Grant unto them, O Lord, eternal rest.
South Africa.
WEBB	Godfrey West	To the glory of God and in honoured memory of Godfrey West Webb. Son of Jonas and Mary Marshall Webb of this parish. Lance Corporal, 10th Company, 3rd Battalion, Sherwood Rangers, Imperial Yeomanry who having responded to the call of his country died on active service at Kroonstad, South Africa on 30th July 1900, aged 24 years. This memorial is erected by his comrades in the Regiment, and by his friends and neighbours in the Brocklesby Hunt district.
