The monument is fairly new, and stands at the end of the pedestrianised part of the town centre taking the form of a Celtic Cross made of Welsh slate. It stands atop a double-step plinth, with the names of the fallen being written around the upper step. On it are recorded 13 names from the First World War and a further 12 from the Second World War.
