The
Hargrave War Memorial stands in the grounds of All Saints Parish Church,
Hargrave. It takes the form of a wheel cross with a tapering shaft;
the cross is mounted on a rough hewn granite base with three steps.
There are ten names listed for World War 1. A tablet sits at the base
of the memorial with one name for World War 2 and one for Suez.

Derbyshire Regiment). Killed in action 21 March 1918. Born in the
Jul-Sep Quater 1881, and resident, Hargrave, enlisted Northampton.
In the 1901 census he was single, aged 20, son of John and Sarah
Jane Boultbee, an Army Shoe Closer, born Raunds, resident Hargrave.
In the 1911 census he was still unmarried, a Farm Labourer, born
Raunds, resident Hargrave. No known grave. Commemorated on ARRAS
MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Bay 7. |

Northamptonshire Regiment and 25 Squadron, Royal Flying Corps. Missing
reported killed in action 17 March 1917. Aged 19. Son of the Revd.
Frederick Croxall Boultbee and Henrietta Eleanor Boultbee, of "Arnion
Lodge", The Avenue, Combe Down, Bath, Somerset. Brother of
Joseph (below). In 1911 he was a boarder at Horeward Hall, Ely,
aged 13, born Colne, Hunts. In 1901 he was living with his parents
Rev. Frederick and Henrietta Boultbee, aged 3, born Colne, resident
The Vicarage, Melchbourne. His medal card states that his father's
address was Hargrave Rectory, Huntingdon. Buried in CANADIAN CEMETERY
NO.2, NEUVILLE-ST. VAAST, Pas de Calais, France. Plot 11. Row A.

25. Born 8 May 1889. Son of the Rev. F. C. and Henrietta Eleanor
Boultbee (nee Molson), of Hargrave Rectory. Brother of Arthur (above).
Working as a Rancher. Unmarried. Passed fit 5 September 1914, enlisted
22 September 1914 at Valcartier, Canada, aged 25 years 6 months,
height 5 feet 9 inches, girth 36 inches, complexion fair, eyes blue,
hair fair; religion Church of England. No known grave. Commemorated
on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel

of Hargrave. In the 1911 census he had been married for 3 years
to Mabel, he was aged 23, a Leasther Boot Maker. born Lavendon,
resident Hargrave; he had one daughter, Eva, born Hargrave. Sent
to the front 12 November 1914. Buried in CONTALMAISON CHATEAU CEMETERY,

census he was the son of Samuel and Sarah Coles, aged 14, working
on a farm, born and resident Hargrave. Buried in DUISANS BRITISH

Hunts. In the 1911 census he was a pupil at The School, Rottingdean,
Sussex, aged 13, born London, Middlesex. Went to France 14 May 1917.

1917. Aged 19. Born Upper Dean, enlisted Bedford, resident Nether
Dean. Son of Francis Isaac and Emma Frances Newton, of Nether Dean,
Kimbolton. in 1911 he was a boarder at The College, Kimbolton, aged
12, born Dean, Beds. In 1901 he was aged 2, born Dean, beds, and
resident Lower Dean. His parents were both born in Hargrave. Formerly
32656, Norfolk Regiment. When he enlisted his occupation was Driver
(Threshing Machine), aged 18 years 9 months, height 5 feet 101/10
inches, girth 38½ inches, weight 145lbs. He sailed from Folkestone
to Boulogne 26 August 1917, posted to 9th Norfolk Regiment as 32656,
for record purposes, 7 September 1917. Transferred to 8th Battalion,
York and Lancaster Regiment as 33671 13 September 1917. When his
medals were despatched his parents were living in Hargrave. The
Rev. Boultbee, fther of the sons above, was rector at Hargrave Rectory
and signed some of the documents relating to Richard Newton. No
known grave. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen,
Belgium. Panel 125 to 128. |

in ALEXANDRIA (CHATBY) MILITARY AND WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY, Egypt.
