Within St. David's Church, Heyope, is a Roll of Honour to those pupils who served from Heyope School. The Roll of Honour is attached to the wall within the nave of the church. Listed are two men who died during the war, six men who died after the war and a further thirty-eight who served, one of which died before the Roll of Honour was erected, a total of forty-six names. Within each section the names have been sorted into alphabetical order for ease of reading and research.

Born Tredegar, Montgomeryshire. resident Nelson, Glamorgan, enlisted Newtown, Montgomeryshire. Grandson of John and Catherine Morris. Born at Knucklas, Radnor. Buried in GAZA WAR CEMETERY, Israel and Palestine (including Gaza). Plot XIX. Row E. Grave 7.
WEBB Ernest [John]
Driver T3/028078, Royal Army Service Corps attached to 64th (West Lancashire) Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps. Killed in action 20 Noveber 1917. Aged 28. Born Knighton, Radnorshire, resident Norton R.S.S., Radnorshire, enlisted Shrewsbury. Son of Naomi Webb, of Corner, Llangunllo, Radnorshire, and the late William Webb. Native of The Colony, Norton, Radnorshire. Enlisted 1914. Buried in HERSIN COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, Pas de Calais, France. Plot I. Row A. Grave 6.

In the 1881 census he was aged 4, born Shrewsbury, Shropshire, a scholar, son of Anne Davies (single mother), resident Middle Cwmheyop, Heyope, Knighton, Radnorshire, Wales. In the 1891 census he was aged 14, born Shrewsbury, Shropshire, a scholar, son of Annie Davies (single mother), resident Middle Comneyope, Green Street, Llangunllo, Knighton, Radnorshire, Wales.

Private 493909, 569th Agricultural Company, Labour Corps (11 December 1917) formerly 36894, 4th Reserve Dragoons then 3rd Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Died of tuberculosis 20 January 1921. Aged 30. Enlisted 26 April 1917 at Shewsbury, medically examined 20 February 1917, occupation Barman, aged 26 years 359 days, height 5 feet 5½ inches, weight 140 lbs, chest 35½-38 inchyes. Transfer to Class Z Reserve document lists him as resident Castle Inn, Knuclas, Radnorshire 19 February 1919, aged 28. In the 1891 census he was aged 1, born Llanfair, Shropshire, son of John George and Eliza Jane Deakins, resident Knucklas, Heyop, Knighton, Radnorshire, Wales. In the 1911 census he was aged 21, born Llanfairwaterdine, Shropshire, a General labourer, son of Eliza Jane Deakins (a widow), resident Castle Inn, Knucklas near Knighton, Heyope, Radnorshire, Wales. Brother of John James Webb Deakins (Below). Buried 24 Janusry 1921, aged 30, in Heyope, Radnorshire. Buried in ST. DAVIDS CHURCHYARD, Heyope.

Private R/382350, Royal Army Service Corps. Enlisted 2 June 1915, aged 25 years 2 months, single. Medically examined 26 May 1915 in Knighton, aged 25, a Farmer by trade, height 5 feet 6 inches. weight 134 lbs, chest 33¼- 35¼ inches. Son of Mrs I. Lloyd, of Whimble, Llangunllo, Radnorshire. Discharged as medically unfit due to Sickness 26 July 1918 under King's Regulations para 392 xvi, at Woolwich Dockyard, aged 28 years 4 months. fresh complexion, brown hair, brown eyes. Issued Silver War Badge 3 September 1919. Died of tuberculosis 21 June 1923, registered in Knighton, Radnorshire. Aged 33.

Private 25595, Worcestershire Regiment. Died in Westborune, Sussex, 18 May 1922. Aged 25. Enlisted 15 November 1915. Discharged, aged 22, 23 January 1919 due to wounds, King's Regulation para 392 xvi. Awarded Silver War Badge B113580 26 February 1919. Son of Robert Price. In the 1911 census he was aged 14, born Llandrindod, Radnoshire, an Apprentice drapery, resident The Emporium, Cefnllys Urban, Radnorshire, Wales. Married Lucy Robins 22 November 1919 in Branksome, St Aldhelm, Dorset, aged 23.

Corporal (Sapper) 562662, 20th London Electrical Engineers, Royal Engineers. Son of Laura Stedman, of Sunnyside, Knucklas, Knighton, Rednorshire. In the 1891 census he was aged 3, born Heartsease, Radnorshire, Wales, son of Charles M and Laura C Stedman, resident Heartsease, Reeve Lane, Stanage, Knighton, Radnorshire, Wales. In the 1901 census he was aged 13, born Herefordshire, son of Charles M and Laura C Stedman, resident Sunnyside, Knucklas, Beguildy, Knighton, Radnorshire, Wales. Enlisted 7 January 1915. Born 7 January 1888. Discharged, aged 30 years 8 months, as medically unfit 15 June 1918 at Chatham , Kent, under King's Regulation Para 2 (b) (i) Sickness, Tubercle of Lung. Height 5 feet 9½ inches, chest 34½ to 37 inches, medium complexion, dark grey eyes, dark hair, Electrical Engineer by trade, intended place of residence Sunnyside, Knucklas, Knighton, Radnorshire. Served in France from 24 August 18915 to 20 January 1916, and with Eastern Expeditionary Force 21 January 1916 to 8 May 1918. Issued Silver War Badge 386759 10 June 1918. Died of tuberculosis 17 September 1920, aged 33. Buried 21 September 1920 in ST. DAVIDS CHURCHYARD, Heyope.

Posted 9 September 1914, appointed Lance Corporasl 11 January 1916, appointed Corporal 17 July 1916. Wounded 30 June 1916. Transferred to Army Service Corps (M.T. Branch) as a Private 23 July 1917, in rest camp suffering from Malaria 130 October 1918, appointed Lance Corporal 18 August 1918. Served in Italy.
