The
Hacheston War Memorial can be found within the parish church and takes
the form of a alabaster plaque and a staoed glass window. There are
21 names for World War 1 listed. The memorial was unveiled on 21st September
1919 and the monies raised were by public subscription for both the
memorial and window a grand total of £280. The masons were Messrs.
Bryans and Webb, the manufacturers Messrs C E Kempe and Co. Details
of the unveiling can be found in the Suffolk Chronicle and Mercury 26th
September 1919.
The
east window in this church was erected by the parishioners in memory of
the following men who gave their lives for their country in the Great
War
