[John] Edward

Captain, "D" Battery 113th Army Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Killed in action 14th September 1918. Aged 33. Son of Sarah Ann Brown, of 126, Holgate Hill, York, and the late Edward Brown. Buried in Hagle Dump Cemetery, Belgium, VI. A. 2.

ROWLAND

Rowland Evan Basil

Second Lieutenant, 16th Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Killed in action 27th July 1916. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France, Pier and Face 9 A 9 B and 10 B.

BEAN

Cecil

Private 40934, "A" Company, 2nd Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers. Died of wounds 8th November 1917. Aged 21. Born and enlisted York, resident Forse Bridge. Son of Hamson Shillitoe Bean and Cissie Bean, of Bilbrough, near York; husband of S. E. Bean, of Sledmere Crossing, Murton, near York. Native of Bilbrough. Formerly 15504, Cavalry Regiment. Buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, France, XXX. K. 11.

DIFFLEY

George

Private 4399, 2nd Battalion, Scots Guards. Killed in action 26th October 1914. Aged 31.Born and resident Tadcaster, enlisted York. Son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Diffley, of Bilborough, York; husband of Florence Diffley, of 11, Claremont Place, Whingate Road, Armley, Leeds. Commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium, Panel 11.

DUNN

Frank

Driver 96129, 55th Divisional. Ammunition Column, Royal Field Artillery. Died of wounds 21st March 1918. Aged 21. Born York, enlisted North Allerton. Son of William and Kate Dunn, of Bilbrough, York. Native of York. Buried Lapugnoy Military Cemetery, France, IX. A. 8.

GILYEAT

J Robert

Private 240879, 9th Battalion, King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Killed in action 4th October 1917. Born Acaster Malbis, enlisted Castleford. Buried in Buttes New British Cemetery, Polygon Wood, France, XV. B. 2.
