The Hollym memorial can be found on the outside of St Nicholas Church, Church Lane, Hollym. It takes the form of a plain tablet with a base and pediment flanked by two round pillars. There are 8 men listed who gave their lives in World War 1 nd 32 others who served and returned. The names on the memorialare in random order but have been sorted alphabetically here.

Bombardier 294826. 146th Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, renumbered from 4626 146th (Hull) Heavy Battery. Died of wounds 25th September 1917, aged 20 years. Son of (the late) William Richard and Jane Elizabeth Bilton of 22 Ceylon Street, Hull, Yorks. Brother of Edgar Samuel Bilton. Born Withernsea and enlisted Hull, Yorks. Commemorated Tyne Cot Memorial. Panel 6 to 7 and 162.

Private G/6826. 6th Battalion, Buffs (East Kent Regiment). Killed in action 7th October 1916, aged 31 years. Son of (the late) William Richard and Jane Elizabeth Bilton of 22 Ceylon Street, Hull, Yorks. Brother of Lewis Bilton. Born Hollym, enlisted and resident Hull, Yorks. Commemorated Thiepval Memorial. Pier and Face 5D.

Gunner 241811. ‘X’, 15th Trench Mortar Battery, Royal Field Artillery. Killed in action 27th August 1918, aged 33 years. Son of John and Sarah Ann Boasman of Holland (?), Withernsea, Yorks. Husband of Lillian Boasman of 4 Elsie Villas, Holland Street, Hull, Yorks. Enlisted and resident Hull, Yorks. Commemorated Vis-En-Artois Memorial. Panel 3 and 4.

Possibly Leonard Coverdale. Born 1891 Hollym, the son of Thomas Charles Coverdale (Farmer. Present Tot Lands, Hollym 1881 census) and Emily Coverdale (nee Harrison). Unable to identify as casualty and no further information.

Born Hollym, enlisted Beverley and resident Ottringham, Yorks. Commemorated Gezaincourt Communal Cemetery Extension. II.H.4.
