The 'Market Weighton & Arras War Memorial Institute' is a small
brick building situated near the bottom of Spring Road, Market Weighton,
East Riding of Yorkshire. On the outside of the front wall are two plaques.
The World War 1 plaque is bronze, with raised lettering, set in a wooden
frame, and lists 59 names. The World War 2 plaque is of black stone,
with the incised lettering gilded, set in a pale stone surround, and
lists 17 names.
Note:
Market Weighton & Arras is the full name of the parish. Arras
is a small settlement east of Market Weighton town.
