              29 October 1917. Died from Pulmonary Tuberculois, caused by exposure 
              while on military service, Wednesday 12 December 1917. Aged 47. 
              Born 21 October 1871. Husband 
              of Elizabeth A. Gough, of 21, Greenhill St., Bedford.  
              Originally 
              enlisted as 26768, 5th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment (Reserve) 
              21 October 1914. Previously enlisted 10 October 1883 as Private 
              9679, Rifle Brigade, aged 19, height 5 feet 7¾ inches, weight 
              159lbs, chest 39 inches, fresh complexion, brown grey eyes, brown 
              hair, religious denomination Church of England. In the 1911 census 
              he was aged 40, married to Elizabeth, with five children, a Brewer's 
              Labourer, born Bedford, resident 21 Greenhill Street, Bedford. Buried 
              in BEDFORD CEMETERY, Bedford. Plot I. Row 5. Grave 36. See also

              52962, 7th Battalion Royal Fusilierts (City of London Regiment). 
              Killed in action Wednesday, 21 August 1918 in France & Flanders. 
              Born and resident Goldington, enlisted Bedford. Formerly PS/11104, 
              28th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. No known grave. Commemorated on 
              VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 3.
