        The 
          memorial stands in a memorial garden on the corner of Marsh Road and 
          Memorial Road.  (Note: Linbury as below was the original spelling of 
          the name which has now be altered to Limbury). The memorial was made 
          by Mr Basil Deacon, Messers Giddings and Son. It was unveiled by Lady 
          Ludlow and dedicated by Major the Rev A S Bishop APC RAF on 24 July 
          1921. It takes the form of an obelisk on a stepped base. There are 55 
          names listed for World War 1. IN

        There 
          are two memorials in the British Legion in Leagrave. One, the large 
          wooden one with three parts and the wreaths underneath is the Legion's 
          own. The wooden board, first name on it H Bates is on the Luton 
          Co-Op Memorial, the Luton co-op replaced by the new bowls club, 
          and is now in the bar of 
          the Legion. There is additionally the Leagrave and Limbury memorial 
          on the opposite side of Marsh Road to the Legion. 1914
