The memorial is to be found within Tillicoultry Parish Church, Dollar Road, Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, FK13 6PD. It is to be found on the right of altar affixed to the wall and takes the form of two separate plaques, one above the other. The uppermost memorial is for those men who gave their lives in World ar 1 and is a brass plaque with embossed lettering in a wooden surround, there are 28 names in two columns; the inscription is inset into the wooden surround. The lower memorial is for those men who gave their lives in World ar 1 and is a brass plaque with embossed lettering in a wooden surround, there are 9 names in two columns; the inscription is inset into the wooden surround. There is a brass plaque to James Conn whio fell in World War 1 in the centre of the same wall; he is listed on the main memorial. The names listed here have been sorted into alphabetical order for ease of reading and research.

Acting Sergeant 761, 2nd Battalion, Princess Louise's (Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders). Died of wounds in the Field Ambulance 4 July 1915. Born and enlisted Tillicoultry. Son of Catherine Burnett, of 9 Ochil Street, Tillicoultry; father deceased; brother of John, Robert, Marion and Catherine. Fresh complexion, gray-brown eyes, hair brown; religion Presbyterian. Enlisted in Glasgow 3 May 1911. Appointed Lance Corporal 20 December 1912, Corporal 10 June 1914, posted 21 September 1914, appointed Acting Sergeant 4 February 1915, posted 1 April 1915. Left a battlefield Will leaving his possessions to his mother. On 8 May 1914 he was being used as a Scout. Gardener by trade. Buried in ERQUINGHEM-LYS CHURCHYARD EXTENSION, Nord, France. Plot I. Born (1895) and resident Tillicoultry, enlisted Stirling, aged 20. Lived at 9 Ochil Street, Tillicoultry. Labourer by trade. Height 5 feet 8 inches. girth 35 inches, weight 115 lbs. Enlisted aged 20 years 3 months 15 November 1915 at Stirling. Unmarried. Son of Mrs Catherine Burnett, of 9 Ochil Street, Tillicoultryfather deceased; brother of John, David, Marion and Catherine. Bicklayer & Mason by trade. Heoght 5 feet 9 inches, weight 160lbs, girth 39 inches. Formerly 4719, Lowland Division, Royal Engineers 10 January 1916 until he was transferred 7 January 1917. Unmarried. Height 5 feet 6 inches, weight 155 lbs, chest 34½-36½ inches, complexion fair, eyes grey, hair dark brown; religious denomination Presbyterian. GRAY GIBSON J
Captain - He lived at Belmont, Dollar at the time of his death and was an ex-army officer although on his death certificate he is entered as a Retired Woollen manufacturer. At the outbreak of war he had served as a Captain in the 2/7th Battalion, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders at Alloa and Norfolk but t is presumed that due to ill health he retired. He was Captain of the Sauchie Company of the Clackmannanshire Volunteer Battallion. He died in his home at Belmont, Dollar of pneumonia on 25 August 1916. He was given a military funeral with three volleys being fired over his grave and the playing of the last post. He does not appear on the CWGC because he was not a full time officer but is listed on the war Memorial in Tillicoultry Parish Church. When the then St Serf's (Tillicoultry) Parish Church was renovated in 1929 his widow and a brother gifted the handsome brass eagle lectern in the church. At that point they were living in Redmayes, Dollar Road, Tillicoultry.
