The War Memorial is to be found in St Mary Magdalen Church, Boddington (Grid Reference: SO 894252) and the newly refurbished Roll of Honour was unveiled 18th July 1998 replacing the original one erected in the 1920's.

ARKELL Frank Joseph

Private 240961, 2nd/5th Battalion, Gliucestershire Regiment. Killed in action 21 March 1918 at Holnon Wood, France. Aged 24. Born Cheltenham, enlisted Gloucester. Youngest son of Henry and Anne Arkell. Commemorated on POZIERES MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Panel 40 and 41. Also commemorated in St Mary Magdalen Church, Boddington.

COOK William Elliott

Private 234804, 8th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. Died of illness at Boddington 11 February 1926. Aged 37. Born 23 March 1889 at Coombe Hill, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. He lived at Oak River Manitoba when he enlisted. His parents, Edward William and Elizabeth Cook, resided at Slate Mill, Boddington but on his enlisted ment papers he lists his next of kin as Margaret Cook, step-mother. He married Julia Chandler Crump in 1919 after discharge from the Army. Farmer by trade. Single man when he enlisted and was passed fit 20th April 1916 in Brandon, Canada aged 25. Height 5 feet 6 inches, girth 36 inches, complexion fair, eyes blue, hair light brown. Religion Church of England. Buried in BODDINGTON CEMETERY, BODDINGTON. SKIRTON William Richard

[Spelt SKIRTEN on SDGW & CWGC] Private 20622, 6th Battalion, The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Died of wounds 4 June 1916 at Bait Aissa, Mesopotamia. Aged 19. Born Boddington, Cheltenham enlisted Wigan, Lancashire, resident Parbold, Lancashire. Son of Joseph and Sarah Skirten, of Uckington, Cheltenham. Buried in AMARA CEMETERY, Iraq. Plot VIII. Row F. Grave 4.

TOMLINSON Herbert Victor

Private 8047, 1st Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry. Killed in action at Hooge, Belgium 20 June 1915. Aged 28. Born and resident Boddington, enlisted Hereford. Buried in POTIJZE BURIAL GROUND CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Row Z. Grave 16.

TOMLINSON Leonard Rees

Private 12566, 1st/4th Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry. Died of illness at Rouen, France 5 November 1918. Aged 28. Son of William and Jane Tomlinson, of Boddington, Cheltenham. Buried in ST SEVER CEMETERY, ROUEN, Seine-Maritime, France. Section S. Plot II. Row Y. Grave 29.

BICK Leonard Long

Private 27653, 16th Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Killed in action in the Arras area of France 13th March 1917. Son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bick, of Church Farm, Staverton, Cheltenham, Glos. Buried in CHAMBRIN MILITARY CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Row H. Grave 23. Commemorated on the family grave in Boddington cemetery. Commemorated on Staverton (St Catherine's Church) Roll of Honour.
