Enlisted 3 September 1915 for the duration of hostilities, a Railway Porter, height 5 feet 8 inches, chest 37 inches, brown hair, grey eyes, fresh complexion. In the 1911 census he was aged 14, a Grocers Assistant, born Long Melford, Suffolk, resident with his parents, Arthur Robert and Lucy Potter, in Westgate Lane, Long Melford, Suffolk. No known grave.
